Day 10: a 'zero' day...

We've done a lot over the last 8 days, and so today I promised the kids a day of rest and doing relatively nothing.  I follow the blog of an acquaintance who was hiking the Pacific Crest Trail (Green Tortuga - aka Ryan, see it at Another Long Walk), and when you take a rest day on a long hike, you refer to it as a 'zero' day - as in zero miles.  It seemed somewhat appropriate for our journey, so I stole the term...

For the kiddos, this meant hanging out in their pajamas all day, watching cartoons (unlike home, mommy has cable!), doing art work and catching up on their journals.  Unfortunately, mommy got called back to work today, so for me it meant getting the laundry caught up and going through our supplies to make a shopping list for everything I think we'll need for the next leg of the trip...

Tomorrow we start our exploration of Missouri with a day-trip to St. Louis & the Gateway Arch!
