After dropping her off with hugs and kisses, it was north and west to Estes Park, the gateway to the Rocky Mountain National Park! The drive there (after a quick run up the interstate) was spectacular - below are several pictures along the way. Since Mary was gone, my photographer was in the back seat - leaving the shots with a little window glare now & then. Still, I think you'll agree they are spectacular!!
As high up as Denver is ("Mile High"), most of the drive into Estes Park was gaining altitude - enough to make our ears pop a few times. The forest was beautiful, if a bit late-summer dry.
The next shot is of the road through Estes Park, as facing the National Park. Those mountains are where we are headed...
Tonight is even easier than most, as we have a reservation at our timeshare (WorldMark by Windham) - the first of several we will do throughout our trip. We found the condo, then headed into the park. Click here to see those pics.
Once we were done for the day, we went back to the condo - to find more wildlife!! This bunny looked more like a released pet than like a local. Still, the kids loved it!
