New Mexico Museum of Natural History

After lunch, we went to the Museum of Natural History.  The night before, one of the letterboxers had told Sean about how they had an elevator here that took you 'back in time', and he was super excited.  unfortunately, that, and several other, exhibits were closed for maintenance.  If it weren't for the cool dinosaurs out front, we might not have gone in.  (They did give a discount, however, since several exhibits were closed...)

There were lots of displays showing where the various fossil finds in the state are located.

And some cool artists renditions of what they may have looked like.

Although the time elevator was closed, there was a wall showing the depth of each time layer in a dig - that was really cool.  The kids were impressed how deep you would have to dig to get to the dinosaurs...

Amd, of course, lots of bones!

A little side note: There's way more to the museum than the dinosaur exhibit, and we took a little look at some of it (but a lot was closed...).  However, different halls cost additional money, so we passed on much the museum had to offer.  We really stopped for the fossils and the time elevator - one of which we got to see.
